Your Appointment - Your Choice

We offer a number of different appointments to meet your needs. Sometimes it is important to see your GP face to face, sometimes all you need is some advice.

We offer face-face appointments; telephone consultations; and video consultations (ie where you can speak with your doctor on a video link via your Smart phone, from work or from home).  Any one of these can be booked by contacting the medical centre on 01395 441212 during office hours.

Routine Pre-Bookable Appointments 

If you think you may need more time with your GP, please mention this to the receptionist when making an appointment. In most cases this will be with by your nominated doctor, but in the event that your GP is unavailable you will be offered an appointment with another doctor.  Appointments are made by telephoning 01395 441212 during office hours.

Urgent Appointments

Sometimes things can’t wait. If you feel you need to be seen urgently on the day  please telephone 01395 441212.  Your request will be forwarded to our daily duty team who will assess your need and will either see you in person, speak with you on the telephone, or send your an SMS.  

Telephone Appointments

Quite often health related queries can be effectively over the telephone.   The appointment time is the same as that for a face-to-face appointment, but will save the need for your to have to visit the surgery.  This allows for prompt assessment of your problem. Investigations can be booked, and we can discuss your results with you too.  Please ensure you give the receptionist the best number for the clinician to contact you on.

Video Consultations

These are very similar to a face-to-face appointment. This is where you speak to a doctor using the video camera in your smartphone, tablet or computer.  This could save you a trip up to the health centre.

Extended Hours

Life is busy and your time is precious. We are happy to offer you appointments outside of normal working hours. We offer nurse apointments from 7.00am twice a week; GP clinics on a  Saturdays once every six weeks; and dedicated Covid Vaccination and Flu Vaccination clinics in the Autumn.  If you would like to booke one of these appointments please ring 01395 441212

Home Visits

You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Home visits requests should be made as early in the day as possible and before 11:00am. We will always phone you back first so we can best assess your needs. These appointments are precious so we would ask that anyone who is able to make it to the Practice for an appointment should do-so.  You may be visited by a doctor, a paramedic or a member of our fraility team.  We are not always able to give you a time for the visit.
